Ronald Reagan Library Event-2007

Greetings to All-

The 8th annual Colonial Encampment and Re-enactment is this week, with the school programs already attracting 10,000 applicants for the program. As in previous years, the library has had to turn away many who signed up too late.

Our tactical demonstration schedule is as follows:
SATURDAY, MARCH 24th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm:
  • Lexington and Concord
  • Anatomy of a Battle (a narrated 'freeze frame' demonstration )
  • Battle of Bunker Hill
SUNDAY, March 25th,10:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
  • Lexington and Concord
  • Anatomy of a Battle
  • Battle of Cowpens
This year, we have the honor of hosting the Morgan's Rifles with us, who will be demonstrating Rifleman tactics and the value they added to the American War for Independence.

Admission is free, and there are many more vignettes to see:
  • British military recruiting party
  • An 18th Century Cavalry demonstration by the 2nd Continental Dragoons
  • Blacksmith demonstrations
  • weapons displays and demonstrations
  • Home life of the18th Century
  • Women's contributions to the war effort
  • Women's clothing displays
  • Original antiques and artifact displays
  • A small play entitled "The Grand Forage" describing the sufferings at Valley Forge
  • Numerous other activities for all to enjoy
