Beverly Nighswonger

We lost a dear friend a few days ago. A life cut so short, so unfairly, with the swiftness of a winter storm. The disease often gives no warning , as many of us know.

I knew Beverly only from our friendship in the hobby, but I always enjoyed her candor, humor, and vibrant spirit. Once, on a film shoot, she was cast as my 'wife'. From then on, we always enjoyed that private joke in public. Dave (her real husband) was equally good-natured about this absurd moment.

What I admired most in Beverly was her ability to interact with anyone, making them feel at ease and worth listening to. She had that quiet grace, and yet somehow managed to laugh with the guys without intruding into male territory. That subtlety and awareness which is so lacking in many of today's crass women will be sorely missed by all lucky enough to have been in her presence.

We'll all miss you, Beverly Nighswonger. And you will never be forgotten.
